Using any kind of narrative, we will apply ideas of not only a time frame, but also some kind of ticking down of time as a fun way to experiment with tension and urgency in stories. Being able to visualize the clock itself, and plotting narrative movement around the clock, instead of on a timeline, gives the writer a clear picture of how to speed up or slow down their story and when. What happens when a car is running out of gas, when the bomb is going to go off, when graduation looms, when any time-based aspect of the story is inevitably running down?
Class meets in person Tuesday, December 8, 10 am - noon.
