About the Readers:
Born in Colombia and raised in Pittsburgh, Mauricio Kilwein Guevara is the author of four poetry books, including Poems of the River Spirit and Autobiography of So-and-so ; a volume of translations published in Madrid, Spain; and a comic play that was performed off-Broadway. He is Professor Emeritus of English at UW-Milwaukeed. He will read a short excerpt from his forthcoming novel, The Thieves of Guevara , forthcoming from Etruscan Press in 2027.
Janet Jennerjohn, an alum of the UW-Milwaukee creative writing graduate program, recently retired after 30+ years of teaching college English. She divides her time between Milwaukee and Door County with her husband, Mauricio, and their dog, Django. She is the author of a bilingual chapbook, Cara dividida/Divided Face and the recently published chapbook, The Moment Before (Woodland Pattern, 2026). Her poems have appeared in American Poetry Review , SWWIM Every Day , Sheltering with Poems , and the Wisconsin Poets' Calendar, among others.
