Adult Classes & Workshops

All-Genre Writing

During this two-hour generative workshop, participants will discover how randomness can beget fantastic ideas, and that we all have a natural story structure that we can work within. Meditative freewriters and accompanied by a guided rewrite, where participants are at the whim of a Barketrannouncing changes to the narrative's direction from Event Cards. These announcements can be interpreted anyway the writer wishes. Will the card announcing "A fog lifts" be a literal fog in your work? Will "Hair found in a puddle" be a serious plot point to consider or just a line a character says? Whatever will you make of "Loose twine on sale"? The choices are yours to make in this quietly maddening session of improv writing!

Class meets in person Saturday, February 14, 9 am – noon.

Class size: Minimum 5, maximum 15.
