Youth Classes & Workshops

This writing workshop is designed to get students excited about writing and reading. In this workshop, we will focus on writing a story based on our imagination. The goal is to create a memoriable character. In order to accomplish this goal, students will explore unique voices, behaviors, or unique lenses to name a few. Students will then apply the skills they learn to edit their stories.

Teaching Artist:  Baptiste Paul is the award-winning author of  The FieldTo CarnivalI Am Farmer: Growing an Environmental Movement in Cameroon , and  Dear Your Dream Big. His works have been given many starred reviews from  KirkusBooklist , and  School Library Journal. In addition to being an author and storyteller, he is a dad and a sports fan (loves soccer!). He enjoys sharing his island culture and Kweyol/Creole language with anyone who will listen. He also enjoys roasting his own coffee and making his own chocolate bars.

Class meets Monday – Friday, June 16 - 20, 1:00 - 4:00 pm
