Kevin O’Donnell is an award-winning author and professional photographer, a YouTube content creator, a masterful story-teller, and a year-round resident of Door County, Wisconsin.
Retired since 2018 as a principal engineer in the pharmaceutical industry, his 37-year career led to considerable international travel. This kindled his interest in photography, writing and story-telling, expanded his world view, and exposed him to an assortment of cultures, histories, and landscapes throughout Europe, Asia, and the Americas, about which he has written and photographed extensively.
As an author, O’Donnell wrote regularly for several industry trade magazines and published two books: “Fadó—a memoir of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” (Xlibris) and “Cold Chain Chronicles—a practitioners outside-the-box perspectives on the importance of temperature-sensitive drug stewardship” (DHI publishing), which won “international author of the year award” from the Parenteral Drug Association. The book is used in academia by pharmacy schools, the World Health Organization, and throughout the pharmaceutical industry as a guide to good vaccine quality management practices.
In his 2024 coffee table book of photographs and original essays: Behind The Door — Profiles of a Peninsula, O’Donnell provides an insiders view of the unique hidden places, history, and people of the Door peninsula not typically seen by visitors. The book has garnered multiple national and international independent publishing awards for content and design including Best Regional Book - non-fiction.
